The Department of Justice has launched a competition to appoint three trustees to the Board of the Royal Ulster Constabulary George Cross Foundation.
Details
The statutory functions of the Foundation allow trustees to recognise a long, proud history of policing in Northern Ireland and also to look forward by supporting the professional development of police officers and innovations in policing.

Fifteenth Annual RUC GC Day Service – Sunday 4th June 2017
The Fifteenth Annual Royal Ulster Constabulary GC Day Service was held on the 4th June 2017 in St. Mark’s Parish Church, Armagh. Over 500 attended the Service, representing past members of the RUC GC and their families, along with serving members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland. There was representation from other police services, including the Garda Siochana. In addition to the Lord Lieutenant of County Armagh, the Earl of Caledon, the Marquess of Salisbury was in attendance along with the Chief Constable of the PSNI and his wife. Senior

RUC GC FOUNDATION: APPLICATIONS NOW SOUGHT FROM PSNI STAFF FOR BURSARY SCHEME
The Chief Constable is encouraging all eligible police staff to consider applying for a Royal Ulster Constabulary George Cross Foundation Bursary. The Bursary Scheme funds and enables PSNI officers and support staff to research a suitable topic that will contribute to their personal professional development while supporting innovations in policing.
The Scheme is managed by the RUCGC Foundation in partnership with the PSNI and Ulster University and may provide up to £3000 for each

Trustee Visit to the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia
RUC GC Foundation Trustee, Stephen White recently visited the RUC GC Memorial at the FBI Academy, Quantico. Stephen was working with US Government Departments and a number of other bodies in Washington DC and took the opportunity to visit the memorial and maintain relations with the Academy staff. He met a number of FBI officials, extended greetings from the Chairman and fellow Trustees, explained the role of the Foundation and thanked them for maintaining the memorial which is included in the itinerary of visitor tours to the centre.

Secretary of State Visit – Monday 19 December 2016
On a recent trip to Northern Ireland, Secretary of State James Brokenshire MP visited the RUC GC Foundation. He was met by Foundation Chairman and Trustees before being given a tour of the Memorial Garden by two of our Volunteer Guides. Following this Mr Brokenshire was briefed by the Trustees on the work of the Foundation and it’s objectives for the future. The Foundation would like to thank Mr Brokenshire for taking the time to visit and learn more about the RUC GC Foundation.
