The annual Royal Ulster Constabulary George Cross Act of Remembrance was held on a beautiful autumnal day in the Area of Peace within the Garden at 11am on Friday 11th November 2016. The Service was once again conducted by the Reverend Dr. Colin McClure, the Minister of First Larne Presbyterian Church, and this year was attended by over 200 people. First Minister Arlene Foster has described a visit to the Memorial Garden to fallen police officers as an “incredibly poignant and personal experience”.
The DUP leader received a tour of the Royal Ulster Constabulary George Cross Foundation Garden at Brooklyn in East Belfast.
It was created as a tribute to policing in Northern Ireland and in particular to the service and sacrifice of RUC officers.

This year the Royal Ulster Constabulary George Cross Foundation’s annual Training Day was held on Wednesday 12th October in the grounds of Mount Stewart, a magnificent National Trust property situated at the northern shores of Strangford Lough.
